SRI BHOO NEELA SAMETHA SRI DESHA NARAYANA SWAMY TEMPLE

Sri Bhoo Neela sametha sri Desha Narayana swamt temple is situated at Budigere 45km from bangalore on Bangalore International Airport road via Old Madras Road. This temple has a long history dating back to Mahabharatha period. It is said that Bhima one among pandavas who killed the demon Bakasura was prone to "Brahma Hathya Dosha" as a result of which Bhima was asked to install and worship 5 Narayana vigrahas at a time in order to overcome his sin or dosha. so thinnking of installing 5 Narayana vigrahams at a time Bhima asked Lord Indra  to help him in acheiving this. Lord Indra helped him and so Lord Indra and Other gods installed Pancha Narayana and one in Budigere that is Sri Desha Narayana perumal is said to be the second kshetra and other being Kaivara,Talkad,Gadag and Melkote. So such installed Narayana is Sri Desha Narayana Swamy a beautifull idol of around 3 to 4 feet, and temple had been renovated recently and has been constructed very beautifully.The Brahmarathotsavam is celebrated on Holi festival
